Your curls form tight, springy ringlets about the circumference of a marker pen, packed densely enough to give real volume. The pattern starts at the root and the hair feels drier than it looks.
Dryness. Type 3B has enough bends in each strand that natural scalp oil never travels down the full length, so the ends are always thirstier than the roots. Most 3B problems trace back to insufficient moisture.
3B hair is commonly high porosity, particularly if coloured. High porosity absorbs product quickly and loses moisture just as quickly, so layering a cream under a gel to seal it in makes a visible difference.
Knowing your type is the first half. The quiz covers the other half — your porosity, scalp condition, damage level, and which ingredients your hair does not tolerate — then builds the routine around all of it.
